Control IT Solutions are approved consultants to help your business through the process of achieving certification and gain your accreditation. We will take you through the process of filling in the application forms to getting the Scottish Enterprise grant (if eligible). We will help you understand and implement the cybersecurity requirements to get your accreditation. We will assist you with your systems and make sure that they are configured correctly before our Assessors do the final checks for you to gain your certification. Our Security Partner, Net-Defence who is a Cyber Essentials Practitioner and Implementer will do the final assessment of your systems to make sure you are eligible for accreditation/certification of either Cyber Essentials Level 1 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
There are 2 types of Certifications, Cyber Essentials Level 1 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Cyber Essentials Level 1 Certification
The Cyber Essentials Level 1 does not require an On-site visit and is a self-assessment certification which included a security questionnaire and an external vulnerability scan of internet facing systems within your organisation.
Cyber Essentials Plus Certification
The Cyber Essentials Plus Certification will require an onsite visit by a Cyber Security Specialist to authenticate vulnerability scans of your internal network and internet-facing systems. This will be done together with a self-assessment security questionnaire and the questionnaire will also be authenticated by a Cyber Security Specialist. Before a certification can be awarded an on-site visit by a certified assessor will be carried out.

How long does it last for?
The certification lasts for a year and must be renewed annually to maintain validation. The process will be the same but not as length if you are keeping up with the security controls that were put in place initially.
